V-ati intrebat vreodata ce fac in week-end-uri si in vacante sute de elevi si studenti din Romania? Asociatia Romana de Dezbateri, Oratorie si Retorica (ARDOR) stie raspunsul: o buna parte dintre ei vin la cluburile de debate ale ARDOR, abordand teme situate de multe ori in avangarda dezbaterilor din societatea civila romaneasca.
Infiintata in 1998 prin institutionalizarea programului educational de debate initiat in 1994 de Fundatia pentru o Societate Deschisa, ARDOR are in componenta sase asociatii regionale care au aceeasi misiune, sustinerea educatiei prin "instrumentul" dezbaterilor. "Patronand " zeci de cluburi de debate in licee si universitati, ARDOR are o oferta provocatoare pentru spatiul educational romanesc: practicarea si exersarea dezbaterilor in formatele Karl Popper, Parliamentary si World Schools, in care doua echipe se "infrunta" pe o tema asupra careia persoane bine intentionate si mediu informate pot avea pareri contrare.
Va invitam asadar in amfiteatre, in sali de curs si de conferinte, in pauze, in cafenele, la competitii, sa discutam despre mentalitati, educatie, majoritati sau minoritati, despre constrangeri sau libertati, afland impreuna felul in care lucrurile/lumea/privirea se schimba.

IDEA Exchange to share ideas from around the world

In less than a month, 150 people from around the world will meet to share their ideas and learn from others at the IDEA Exchange in London. Hosted by IDEA, Debatewise, and Goldsmiths University, the Exchange will take place December 12th-13th. Beforehand, a grand opening ceremony will be held on December 10th at the House of Lords in Westminster Palace. Additionally, the IDEA General Assembly will take place on December 11th.
This year's IDEA Exchange will focus on the theme, "The Web and Social Change." Participants will have the opportunity to explore a variety of topics related to the use of the Internet and digital technologies in order to engage others in the process of communication, debate and dialogue. To add to this discussion, many participants have submitted presentations, such as "Using Debate and the Internet for Community Organizing," or "Using YouTube for Discussion to Reveal the Civic Position of Youth."
